The CAT® AD63 underground truck is designed to provide high production, reduce costs, and increase efficiency. With its robust construction, it can withstand the tough conditions of your site; furthermore, it has several improvements compared to its predecessor, including a 5% higher payload and increased torque. The state-of-the-art cabin offers the driver safety and comfort throughout the workday, and new enhancements ensure the safety of people working on or around the machine. It is powered by a C27 Cat engine compliant with the European Stage V emissions standard for cleaner performance and reduced ventilation costs. Additionally, its sturdy structure and simplified maintenance extend its lifespan and reduce operating costs, allowing you to make the most of your investment.

Security
Serial driver presence detection system, which protects the machine and the driver against uncontrolled machine movements, with hydraulic circuit neutralization and door sensor. Safer access and exit with non-slip surfaces on the upper deck, new and improved handrails on the upper deck, 3-point access to the cabin and machinery, additional access through the front grille, and alternative exit through the windows. Integrated Cat braking system that offers reliable performance and control, plus a hydraulic pressure-operated service brake system and a spring-loaded hydraulic release parking brake function to ensure braking in case of hydraulic pressure loss. Safer service thanks to steering frame lock, body retaining pins, exhaust thermal shield, and firewall, as well as hydraulic coupling hoses equipped with burst protection sleeves.
Mastering and Driving Comfort
The location of controls, levers, switches, and instruments has been designed to optimize the driver's productivity and reduce fatigue. The standard enclosed and soundproof ROPS cabin provides a quiet, safe, comfortable, and air-conditioned working environment with a circulation of fresh air, under pressure and at regulated temperature. The fully adjustable suspension seat with thick cushions reduces pressure on the lower back and thighs, while the retractable seat belts offer comfortable and secure restraint. The comfortable steering wheel with tilt steering allows for a comfortable driving position, a secure grip, and better control. The Roll-Over Protective Structure (ROPS) and Falling Object Protective Structure (FOPS) frames are resiliently mounted to the chassis to isolate the driver from vibrations, for a more comfortable driving experience.
Performance and Productivity
Payload of 63 tonnes (69 tonnes), 5% higher than its predecessor, the AD60 allows for the transportation of more materials per cycle for maximum production. A mechanical powertrain and an assisted gearshift transmission that offer unmatched operating efficiency and control on steep slopes and in poor underfoot conditions. The Automatic Retarder Control (ARC), which electronically controls deceleration on slopes to maintain optimal engine speeds for faster downhill travel and increased productivity. Single-stage dump cylinders that ensure fast dumping cycles (13 seconds for lifting and 24 seconds for lowering).
Power and Efficiency
Powered by a C27 Cat engine with a Phase V EU emission rating to comply with emission regulations while providing unmatched power. Increased engine torque by 18 to 28%, along with an updated transmission ratio to distribute the increased torque for better road holding. The Cat Data Link system, which reduces fuel consumption, regulates engine speed, and prevents shifting to a higher gear than a preprogrammed ratio when the box is not fully lowered. Lock-up clutch torque converter that combines the high bearing capacity and smooth gear shifting of a torque converter with the efficiency and performance of a direct drive. Modular HVAC system with two power options - operates when the engine is running to provide maximum efficiency in hot applications and is powered by the electrical system when the engine is stopped, reducing engine idle time and operating costs.
Dumpsters
Cat bins designed for optimal power, capacity, and longevity. Designed and adapted to the machine's integrated chassis, ensuring reliability, strength, and superior lifespan. Five bin size options, including a new lightweight tipping bin, for the most efficient transportation solution at the lowest cost per tonne.
Easy Maintenance
Possibility to tilt the cabin for better access to the engine compartment located on the cabin side, better access to the braking accumulator and engine fastening parts, as well as access to the alternator and starter without having to remove the belly plates. Ground access to all tanks, filters, lubrication points, and compartment drains; remotely mounted fuel filters for easier maintenance; liquid level gauges. Radial seal air filters are easy to change, reducing the time required for air filter maintenance; in addition, the radiator surround has been enlarged to improve access to the pre-cleaner and filters. Electrical connectors that are dust and moisture resistant, harnesses covered by protection, and wires that are color-coded and numbered for easy diagnosis and repairs.
Technology
The Product Link™ Elite network management module, which stores and transfers data and serves as a connectivity facilitator for the condition-based maintenance services provided by dealers and integrates with Cat MineStar Fleet and Health for equipment diagnostics and management. Optionally, MineStar Fleet for underground, which provides real-time visibility of cycle time, payload, machine position, and other key operational parameters; and MineStar Detect, which uses a proximity detection system coupled with a revolutionary communication and tracking network to prevent incidents and track people and machines in real-time. Haul truck payload weighing system, which automatically records load cycle information when the load is dumped; drivers thus have real-time loading data that they can sort for download. ET Cat electronic device that allows for quick electronic diagnostics of machine performance and provides essential diagnostic data for efficient maintenance and repairs. Cat Electronic Monitoring System (EMS Cat), which provides continuous access to important machine data so that it can continue to operate at high levels.
