Security
Driver presence detection system, which protects the machine and the driver against uncontrolled movements of the vehicle, with hydraulic circuit neutralization and door sensor. Wide openings offering excellent panoramic visibility. Safer access and exit, thanks to non-slip surfaces on the platform, as well as 3-point access to the cabin and the machine. Four-wheel braking system, cooled by oil, which ensures excellent vehicle control, with maneuvering brake operated by hydraulic pressure modulation, spring-clamped parking function and hydraulic release to ensure braking in the event of a hydraulic pressure loss incident. Safer maintenance with a maintenance area located on the cold side of the engine, safety pins for the bucket control group, and locking of the articulation and articulated lower shields.
Mastering and Driving Comfort
Closed design for a circulation of fresh, pressurized and temperature-regulated air with air conditioning. Optional soundproofed ROPS cabin provides a quiet and safe working environment. Controls, levers, switches, and gauges are positioned to maximize productivity and minimize fatigue. In addition, the STIC™ system allows the machine to be operated with a single controller. The oil-cooled four-wheel braking system ensures excellent vehicle control.
Productivity and performance
Loadrite payload weighing system, which provides the driver with accurate and real-time updates of the payload weight to help achieve maximum bucket capacities while reducing overload. Increased driver efficiency and optimized performance thanks to the electronic transmission with automatic gear shifting, allowing the driver to choose between manual and automatic modes. Transmission neutralization device, allowing the driver to engage the brake and neutralize the transmission while maintaining a high engine speed to ensure maximum hydraulic flow, improving excavation and loading functions. Fast cycle times thanks to the anti-sway system (optional), allowing the driver to confidently move at speeds exceeding 5 km/h (3 mph) during loading and transport operations. Hydraulic circuit improving productivity, providing exceptional excavation and lifting forces for fast cycle times, as well as high hydraulic flows ensuring quick response and powerful lifting forces.
Power and Efficiency
C15 Cat engine, which offers unmatched overload strength during digging, moving, and traversing steep slopes. Torque reserve that adapts to gear shift points to ensure maximum efficiency and fast cycle times. Converter lock-up clutch, which combines maximum effort to the converter drive plate with the efficiency and performance of direct drive when the lock-up clutch is engaged. High-pressure direct injection fuel system, equipped with electronically controlled mechanical unit injectors (MEUI™), which electronically monitors driver requests and sensor inputs to optimize engine performance. Cat 4-speed Powershift transmission with planetary gears, combined with the Cat C15 diesel engine, delivers constant power over a wide range of operating speeds.
Godets And G.e.t
Four sizes of bucket tipping, including a bucket for lightweight materials, which offer unmatched productivity and structural reliability, with two types of cast angles to help reinforce the joint between the side plate and the bucket lip, as well as for different cutting edges. Welded wear plates as standard in high wear areas, and additional wear sets, including sacrificial wear strips and Cat heel protectors, to protect the edges and avoid costly bucket renovations. Three types of Ground Engaging Tools (GET) are available: modular weld-on tools, which ensure the reliability of welded parts; Bolt-On-Half-Arrow (BOHA) tools, which offer more wear material and have a bolt-on design for quick and easy removal and replacement; and the Durilock Lip Shroud system, which allows for hammerless installation and maintenance-free retention of ground engaging tools, with three interchangeable tool styles. The Cat Bucket Pro application provides real-time data on GET performance to help you plan maintenance, manage inventory, and know the cost per US tonne.
Easy Maintenance
Simplified access to daily maintenance points to facilitate maintenance operations and reduce time spent on routine maintenance. Ground-level access to all tanks, filters, lubrication points, and compartment drains; with engine oil and fuel filters installed on the cold side of the engine; liquid level gauges. Radially sealed air filters are easy to replace, reducing the time required for air filter maintenance. Sealed axes fixed to all main articulation points of the bucket and handling arms for increased longevity of axes and bushings, reducing maintenance costs and extending maintenance intervals. Electrical connectors that are dust and moisture resistant, harnesses covered by protection, and wires that are color-coded and numbered for easy diagnosis and repairs.
Technology
Electronic Monitoring System (EMS) Cat, which provides continuous access to important machine data to ensure it can continue operating at high production levels. Electronic and Technological (ET) Cat device that allows for quick electronic diagnostics of machine performance and provides essential diagnostic data for efficient maintenance and repairs. Third-generation Vital Information Management System (VIMS) that combines machine status information monitoring and VIMS capability into a single ECM to monitor vital machine functions; recorded data helps identify areas for improvement in repair planning, driver training, site planning, machine condition, and personnel performance. Factory-integrated for remote operation and can be equipped with the industry-proven autonomous solution, CAT® MineStar™ Command for underground applications, and machine condition monitoring offerings.
