The enhanced Z-bar linkage has been optimized to deliver the fast loading performance of a traditional Z-bar with the parallel lift and load management capabilities of a tool carrier. The high torque, low speed C7.1 Engine works in concert with an intelligent hydrostatic drivetrain to provide high fuel efficiency as standard.

Enjoy the energy efficiency of hybrid machines equipped with an intelligent hydrostatic powertrain that allows you to achieve the best fuel savings on the market thanks to a lower maximum engine speed (only 1600 rpm in Standard mode). With Caterpillar's exclusive Power-By-Range technology, you get power when you need it: it increases power in Range 4 to accelerate on inclines. For your most demanding and difficult applications, a new Performance mode increases power and hydraulic speed in all ranges to complete the work even faster. Compliant with EPA Tier 3 emissions standards for the United States/Stage IIIA for the European Union/equivalent MAR-1 for Brazil, the CAT® C7.1 Engine is fully self-contained. This allows you to fully focus on your work.

The driving modes associated with the industry's very first Hystat™ system designed by Caterpillar, equipped with four unique drivetrain settings, allow you to meet the requirements of your applications while adapting to your personal preferences. Select the classic torque converter for greater flexibility, the classic Hystat system for aggressive engine braking, the Ice mode to optimize vehicle control on slippery surfaces, or the default mode that combines the best features of the Hystat system and torque converter. The touch-sensitive buttons and the optional second screen allow you to configure the machine's performance with precision and simplicity. You can also quickly adjust the hydraulic response, the disengagement positions of the linkage, the maximum wheel torque, and the maximum ground speed to efficiently perform multiple tasks.
