C18 Cat Engine The Cat C18 engine has been designed and tested to meet your most demanding applications. Three options for the C18 engine are available on this machine: compliance with the American Tier 4 Final/European Stage IV standards with aftertreatment, equivalent to Tier 3, or equivalent to Tier 2. The fully integrated electronic engine controls work in conjunction with the entire machine for increased fuel efficiency. The engine idle shutdown feature reduces fuel consumption at idle. The engine delayed shutdown feature ensures longer life. Cat Planetary Powershift Transmission The all-new transmission controls with Advanced Productivity Electronic Control Shifting (APECS) provide extra boost on slopes and save fuel by pulsing during gear shifts. Impeller Clutch Torque Converter (ICTC) This device allows drivers to optimize efficiency by varying the effort at the machine rim while increasing hydraulic power. Reduced tire wear. Full throttle gear shifts for shorter cycle times. Smooth approach to the dumping area to limit spillage and ensure shorter cycle times. Cat Lock-Up Torque Converter Eliminates torque converter losses while reducing circuit temperature. Improves travel speeds. Reduces cycle times in loading and hauling applications. Improved Hydraulic Efficiency New flow distribution system and variable displacement, load-sensing piston pumps. Hydraulic flow now available on demand for better energy efficiency.
Value and long-term longevity

Robust Structures Boost your results with ultra-resistant structures capable of ensuring multiple lifecycles and supporting the most difficult conditions. The fully enclosed rear chassis resists both torsion forces and shocks. The extra-robust anchorages of the steering cylinders efficiently transmit the steering loads to the chassis. The axle assembly has been optimized for increased structural integrity. The lower articulation axis, frame plate, and bearing size have been increased for greater durability. Robust Structures The push bars are attached across the entire width of the chassis, not just on the side. In the corners of the discharge, the stresses are thus transmitted and absorbed by a larger part of the chassis.

Integrated Steering and Transmission Control System (STIC™) Benefit from maximum responsiveness and control with the STIC system, which combines direction selection, gear selection, and steering into a single lever. A simple movement of the lever to the left or right allows for turning left or right, minimizing driver effort. Ultra-easy gear selection at the touch of a finger. Smoother, faster cycles and less fatigue for operators thanks to integrated controls that require minimal effort. Cat Planetary Powershift Transmission Your success relies on a superior transmission specifically designed for mining applications. Smooth and efficient gear shifting thanks to integrated electronic controls that use the Advanced Productivity Electronic Control Strategy (APECS). Longevity and reliability ensured by heat treatments and metallurgical processes on the gears. Four forward gears and three reverse gears to adapt to all your applications. Cat C18 Engine The long lifespan and exceptional efficiency of your 834K Wheel Loader come from its Cat C18 Engine. Its 6 four-stroke cylinders naturally provide optimal performance. Optimized performance and quick engine response thanks to an electronic control module. Reliable efficiency with perfect control of timing, duration, and injection pressure thanks to the electronically controlled mechanically actuated unit injector system (MEUI™). Increased engine lifespan and improved energy efficiency thanks to lower rated speed. Option: Compliance with US Tier 4 Final/European Stage IV standards, equivalent to Tier 3, or equivalent to Tier 2 on emissions. Impeller Clutch Torque Converter (ICTC) and Rimpull Control System (RCS) Reduce operating costs by using advanced ICTC and RCS systems to control rim effort. Reduce tire slippage and wear by controlling rim effort from 100% to 25% using the left brake pedal. Once the position corresponding to a 25% reduction in rim effort is reached, the pedal is used for braking again. Decrease the risk of wheel slippage without reducing hydraulic efficiency thanks to RCS. Improve energy efficiency in certain applications with the lock-up torque converter, allowing for direct drive.

Technological Solutions The electronic circuits of the 834K have been fully integrated to function as a single machine. This integration creates an intelligent machine and allows the driver to be better informed for improved productivity. Product Link™ Cat Product Link Cat allows remote monitoring of equipment to improve overall fleet management efficiency. Incidents and diagnostic codes, as well as service hours, fuel consumption, downtime, and other information, are transmitted to a secure online application, VisionLink™. With its powerful tools, VisionLink provides drivers and dealers with information such as map data, operating and idle times, fuel level, and much more. Vims™ 3g We have worked tirelessly to help our customers and drivers optimize their performance through our Vital Information Management System (VIMS 3G). Highly visible, the graphical information display features a large touch screen interface. Intuitive operation and easy navigation thanks to our enhanced user interface. Drivers are kept informed at all times of any anomalies or system operation, for reduced maintenance times.
Safety first

We constantly equip our machines with new features to improve driver safety. Machine Access The stairs on the left and right sides, inclined at 45°, improve safety when the driver is climbing or descending on the 834K. Continuous walkways with non-slip surfaces are integrated into maintenance areas. Three points of contact can be maintained at all times through maintenance areas accessible from the ground or a platform. Visibility Optional heated mirrors ensure optimal visibility for increased safety. Standard Cat Vision or optional Cat Detect with radar improves driver awareness of the machine's surroundings. LED headlights provide excellent visibility in the work area. Optional LED beacons can be mounted on the cabin. Driving Position Reduced vibration levels for the driver thanks to cabin mounts and equipment and steering controls mounted on the seat. Low interior noise levels. Reduced environmental impact

The concept of sustainable development is at the heart of the features of the 834K. The engine idle shutdown and automatic downshifting at idle functions help save fuel by avoiding unnecessary idling. Our maintenance-free batteries limit waste production. The 834K model is designed to have multiple lives. To help maximize the machine's lifespan, Caterpillar offers a number of options, such as the Reman and Certified Rebuild programs. Within these programs, reused or remanufactured parts allow for savings of 40 to 70%, reducing your operating costs. Caterpillar offers upgrade packages to equip older models with new features, maximizing your resources. And if you choose the Cat Certified Rebuild program, these upgrades are included in the refurbishment process.
Increased productivity

Specially Designed Front Linkage Cat coal and chip buckets have the unique ability to optimize your productivity by using the discharge while carrying a load with each pass. A hydraulic circuit has been specially designed for this tool to optimize machine productivity and efficiency. The double lifting cylinders provide hydraulic lifting capacity tailored to the application requirements. Oscillating Rear Axle The fixed front axle and oscillating rear axle ensure that all four wheels remain on the ground for maximum grip and stability. The front axle is securely attached to the loader's front frame, while the rear axle is designed to oscillate. This configuration allows the operator to always keep an eye on the bucket while the rear axle oscillates, and to have a consistently smooth and properly leveled work area even on soft ground.
