Performance and efficiency
The torque converter with differential coupling automatically releases the stator when torque multiplication is not necessary under low load conditions. This results in improved efficiency of the powertrain for reduced fuel consumption. The high-power reverse operation accelerates non-productive movements for faster cycle times and up to 8% higher productivity. The high-efficiency load sensing hydraulic circuit improves the response of the hydraulic equipment and energy efficiency. The multifunction touchscreen in the cabin allows the operator to monitor machine performance and adjust machine settings to adapt performance to the current task.
Driver's comfort
Without equivalent, the cabin is equipped with improved ergonomics, a fully adjustable pneumatic suspension seat, and easy-to-access and use controls. The suspended undercarriage absorbs impacts and reduces driver-transmitted shocks by up to 50%, for a smoother and more comfortable ride. The new air conditioning system automatically adjusts the heating and cooling controls to maintain a constant temperature throughout the day. The electronic controls for steering, ripper, and dozer are easily accessible and allow for safe and precise maneuvers.
Security
The cockpit offers an exceptional field of vision thanks to a conical hood, a notched fuel tank, and a narrow ripper carriage. This allows the driver to have a clear line of sight on the front and rear work areas. The optional 360° camera system and cabin screen further improve visibility. The optional motorized ladder with locking protection improves access and exit from the cabin. Ground-level access, forward opening of the cabin door, elimination of grease points on the lifting cylinder, and articulated structure protections for secondary restraint provide a higher level of safety for maintenance personnel.
The productivity
The cabin information display screen is larger, faster, and more powerful, and equipped with more memory and an intuitive menu structure. The optional work tracking screen collects machine data and provides real-time feedback on its performance to optimize productivity. The standard dual tilt allows the driver to optimize the blade tilt angle, improving load control and enabling material transportation instead of just pushing. The C27 Engine automatically adjusts engine power settings based on the direction of travel to provide an additional 20% power in reverse for reduced cycle times.
Technology and innovation
The standard-equipped Automatic Blade Assist (ABA) with dual tilt increases the efficiency of the operator while reducing their workload, by using predefined blade tilt positions for the loading, transportation, and spreading phases of the cycle. The optional AutoCarry™ system automates the lifting of the blade to maintain the desired load, improve load consistency, and reduce chain slippage. The optional automatic ripper control automatically controls the height of the ripper to limit chain slippage, thus reducing operator fatigue. Optional Cat Grade Control 3D uses a dual GNSS antenna mounted on the ROPS frame and sensors integrated into the cylinders to provide precise positioning of the cutting blade.
Ease of maintenance
Completely integrated Cat AutoLube automatic lubrication solution Replaceable thrust arm bearing inserts Large engine oil pan with an additional 50% capacity, allowing for longer oil change intervals and better average oil quality. Single-plane cooling circuit with large radiator access covers for better beam cleaning. Remote update software allowing for remote updates to be performed.
Blades and equipment
Perfectly adapted to the D10, Cat blades are particularly effective on hard materials and offer superior load capacity. Work tool options available for applications requiring high capacity blades for lightweight materials. Cat blades are capable of withstanding bending and torsional distortion and offer increased resistance to wear, without sacrificing machine balance or performance. Specialized equipment includes a single-tooth or multi-tooth ripper and a counterweight.
Built to go far
Larger oil pan capacity improving oil quality and increasing engine lifespan. Single-plane cooling circuit reducing heat load for longer component lifespan. The chassis, powertrain, and main components are designed to be refurbished for a second cost-effective lifespan and offer the same performance as new, at a fraction of the cost of new.
