The productivity
Advantage of cost per ton compared to competing models at altitudes from 6% to 14%, and the option of the HP (high performance) bucket which further reduces weight by 2.0 to 5.0 tons (2.2 to 5.5 US tons). Optimal speed on steep slopes, unstable ground, and on tracks with high rolling resistance, ensuring faster cycle times compared to its competitors; maximum loaded speed of 60 km/h (42 mph). Unmatched traction force during acceleration thanks to a 23% increase in net torque. Constant power over a wide range of operating speeds thanks to the Cat seven-speed Powershift transmission with planetary gears. Control of low-speed movement and unmatched torque locking thanks to the lock-up torque converter.
Energy efficiency
The different power settings allow you to operate at full power or in economy mode, so you can decide the power you need. Modes that allow precise adjustment of hydraulic power and engine power based on the work to be done; the Eco mode allows fuel savings of up to 3.5% per cycle. Optimized fuel calibrations are available for Tier 4 applications, at high altitude and less regulated. The engine ECM does not inject fuel into the cylinders during deceleration applications, resulting in exceptional fuel savings: no fuel combustion during deceleration. Increased energy efficiency in Tier 4 configuration.
Versatility
High and proven production in the most difficult conditions, whether it be extreme cold, soft terrain, or high-altitude and deep copper applications. The C175 Cat engine, with 20 cylinders and quadruple turbocharger, delivers a power of 4000 hp (2983 kW) for fast accelerations; a setting of 3550 hp (2647 kW) for applications that do not require as much power, such as flat terrain transportation found in many coal and iron ore sites. Excels at high altitude, with a full transmission engine configuration that offers higher payload and speeds without impacting fuel consumption.
Mastery and driving comfort
Two options to equip the 797F with the desired features for your operation. An ergonomic layout, excellent panoramic visibility, as well as controls, levers, and switches positioned to facilitate their use. Includes dozens of features designed to improve comfort, such as vibration reduction and noise suppression. The next-generation seat includes a height adjustment device, an adjustable shoulder support to prevent the seatbelt from rubbing against the driver's neck, as well as back, side, and lumbar supports to increase stability. Oil-cooled brakes on all four wheels and an automatic retarder control to improve maneuverability and machine control, allowing the driver to work quickly and confidently.
Durability and long lifespan
Only truck in its category to reach the threshold of 130,000 hours or more. Improvement of more than 5% in tire lifespan, significant increase in engine lifespan, and major improvement in lifespan of powertrain components. More than 80% of the chassis is molded, not made of steel sheet. Boxed design including two forged parts and 14 cast parts in areas subjected to high stress, with continuous penetrating and enveloping welds that prevent damage from torsion without overloading the machine. The chassis, powertrain, engine, and components are designed for refurbishment, offering multiple lifetimes of like-new performance at a fraction of the new price.
Cat Bins
The bins are designed to be an integral part of the vehicle's entire system, ensuring maximum chassis lifespan. The high-performance (HP) bin is characterized by a lightweight, simplified, and durable design that provides complete coverage of the machine at the front and extended protection above the machine. A bitumen sand bin specially designed for use in the challenging applications of Canadian oil sands. HP-XL bin, a version of the standard HP bin with an extended floor, designed to neutralize extreme diagonal front loading applications.
Durability
Designed to consume less fuel, which reduces engine emissions, no fuel is consumed during deceleration. The Tier 4 Final compliant engine (optional) reduces NOx and particle emissions. Less waste thanks to features such as rear axle filtration, extended-life filters, and longer maintenance intervals. Cat common rail fuel system, which ensures optimal fuel supply, reduces both fuel consumption and emissions. Engine compatible with diesel fuel blended with low carbon intensity fuels such as biofuels and renewable fuels. Cat Rebuild and Cat Reman programs, which preserve raw materials, save energy, and reduce emissions.
