The CAT® 793 Mining Truck is a well-known and high-performing machine in the industry. It is the ideal choice for a wide range of applications. It offers high availability and transports more with each load, each cycle, and each shift compared to competing trucks in its category, while consuming less fuel. The latest generation features take the 793 to a new level. The operator is in an advanced environment designed for efficiency and equipped with features that enhance comfort, automate functions, provide real-time information, and build confidence. The 793 also offers significant improvements in ease of maintenance and reliability, increased connectivity, and easier technological integration, including autonomous hauling. These improvements — and many more — allow an already proven truck to reach a higher level of productivity.

The Productivity
The 793 is faster than its competitors and offers optimal speed on steep slopes, unstable terrain, and tracks with high rolling resistance. The continuous torque and effort at the rim deliver superior ground power and allow for a higher gear ratio on a slope. The forward impulses and torque are maintained with each gear shift, with optimal gear selection, allowing for faster acceleration. The six-speed Cat transmission with the latest advanced productivity electronic control strategy (APECS) is coupled with the C175-16 Engine to deliver optimal power over a wide range of operating speeds. The advantage of a empty weight of 13 to 19 tonnes (14-21 US t) compared to electric drive dump trucks in its size category ensures that you will get all the payload you expect. Features such as optimized traction control, dynamic stability control (DSC), anti-lock braking system (ABS), speed limiting, and machine speed control improve machine responsiveness and maneuverability while optimizing cycle times.
Security
Access and exit facilitated by wide walkways, ladders, passages, and maintenance platforms, non-slip surfaces and guardrails, as well as a wide secondary evacuation ladder and a rear access ladder for maintenance. A patented braking circuit provides immediate and resistant braking and deceleration, improving maneuverability. A 360° panoramic camera system provides the driver with better visibility of the ground around the dump truck. Similarly, the Cat MineStar™ Object Detection System, equipped as standard, combines radar and camera systems to warn drivers of immediate dangers. The optional driver safety system alerts the driver if signs of fatigue or distraction are detected. The cabin can be equipped with high-efficiency air filters (HEPA) to reduce the penetration of inhalable dust by 96% and thus limit the driver's exposure to potentially hazardous substances.
Driver's comfort
The cabin offers 34% more space for the driver compared to models in the D series. It is 17% wider, offers 11% more legroom, and 19% more shoulder space. The cabin is quieter and offers automated temperature control and a cabin filter system for a safer and more comfortable environment. The controls, levers, and switches are arranged for easy use. A walk-through cabin with a fully adjustable center console, an easy-to-adjust seat, and increased legroom make this cabin an ideal tool for drivers of all sizes. The new generation reclining seat at 30° is pre-equipped with a four-point restraint and features such as thigh tilt and extension, adjustable side reinforcements and lumbar support with pneumatic suspension, as well as heated and cooled cushions.
Efficiency and productivity of the driver
The AutoHoist function, available as an option, allows for the automatic lifting of the bucket and control of the engine speed, which reduces cycle times. The new framing functionality for speed provides the driver with real-time feedback on how to drive the dump truck in order to optimize productivity, and the advanced speed controls allow the driver to quickly and easily adjust the machine's speed, even while in motion. The payload monitoring system now allows for greater measurement accuracy, improved monitoring, and an optimized interface. Driver identification allows for seamless integration of driver preferences, with custom driver-specific settings stored and restored in the saved settings once connected. Faster data transfers and higher resolution screens improve access to information. Machine data, controls, and guidance information are consolidated on two 10-inch screens.
Ease of maintenance
The new modular heating/ventilation/air conditioning (HVAC) system groups the components together to allow for the quick removal and replacement of the entire system. A modular radiator reduces the time for engine removal and installation, allowing for renovations to be done outside of the dump truck. New remote update and remote troubleshooting features reduce downtime related to software updates by 50%. The time spent on regular maintenance procedures is reduced thanks to features such as extended maintenance intervals, ground-level maintenance and inspection points, easy access to key components, standard automatic lubrication system, and maintenance platforms provided on the engine and transmission. A 100% air-free electric start option eliminates the need for maintenance of the machine's air system and improves productive time.
Cat Bins
Cat bins are the best choice for the 793. They are designed to be an integral part of the entire vehicle system, ensuring maximum chassis life. The maximum payload bin (MP, Max Payload) benefits from a lightweight and un-reinforced design using formed bottom sheets instead of traditional structural elements. It features a convex roof and strong reinforcement along the entire perimeter of the upper sill and rear edge. The high-performance bin (HP, High Performance) is characterized by a lightweight, simplified, and durable design that provides full coverage of the machine at the front and extended protection above the machine. The 793 can be configured with our traditional bin options, which are also specially designed to work with the Cat chassis to achieve superior structural performance.
Durability
The 793 is designed to use less fuel, which reduces engine emissions. Additionally, no fuel is consumed during deceleration. The optional Tier4Final-compliant engine reduces NOx and particle emissions. Features such as continuous rear axle filtration, long-lasting filters, and extended maintenance intervals reduce the amount of waste released into the environment. Features such as the centrifugal oil filter (COF) and the self-cleaning filter (SCF), as well as S•O•S services, optimize the lifespan of the engine oil and reduce environmental impact. The 793 Engine is compatible with diesel fuel blended with low-carbon intensity fuels such as biofuels and renewable fuels. By refurbishing machines and components, Cat Rebuild and Cat Reman programs preserve raw materials, save energy, and reduce emissions.
Better access to data
Next-generation connectivity enables faster data transfers, improved data access, consistent data communication, more actionable data, enhanced data analytics, and new diagnostic capabilities. The backbone of the next-generation machine is a 100 Mbps Ethernet communication between machine controllers, data-optimized sensors, and robust controls. Every machine leaving the factory is equipped with Product Link™ cellular connectivity as standard, as well as an option for dual-mode communication via 4G/LTE cellular and satellite or local Wi-Fi networks. The next-generation Product Link Elite hardware allows your resources to collect and transmit information to locally hosted or cloud-based applications. The hardware enables fast processing with enhanced onboard memory and storage capabilities.
