High Performance With Reduced Fuel Consumption
Thanks to the machine's high energy efficiency, you can stay focused on the task at hand and on the budget. The Cat C7.1 Engine provides you with great hydraulic power to work with different types of material. The large bucket capacity results in fewer passes and faster material movement. Get up to 7% more productivity thanks to improved arm and bucket forces and a larger bucket compared to the 330 model. Adapt the hydraulic excavator to the job at hand with two power modes: Power and Smart. The Smart mode automatically adjusts the engine and hydraulic power to excavation conditions, providing maximum power when needed and reducing power when not necessary to save fuel. The high-efficiency hydraulic fan cools the engine on demand to reduce fuel consumption; an optional reverse function makes it easier to keep the radiators clean. Optional Advansys™ self-sharpening bucket tips increase production and reduce costs. The auxiliary hydraulic options ensure the versatility required to use a wide range of Cat equipment. Don't let temperature be an obstacle to work. This hydraulic excavator offers a high ambient temperature cooling capacity of 50 °C (122 °F) and a cold start capacity of -18 °C (0 °F).
Reliable in Difficult Conditions
Reinforced arrows, arms, and steering keep you moving from one mission to another. The reinforced chassis increases the machine's lifespan and strength. The increased track width of +150 mm (6 in) provides you with more essential stability for using larger buckets or working on uneven surfaces, while still meeting width transport criteria. The automatic preheating of the hydraulic oil accelerates cold weather startup and helps extend component lifespan. Two levels of filtration protect the engine from diesel fuel. The grease retained between the axes and chain bushings reduces noise and prevents debris from entering to extend the lifespan of the undercarriage. The inclined carrier frame prevents mud and debris buildup, reducing the risk of chain damage. Work up to 4,500 m (14,760 ft) above sea level with engine power derating above 3,000 m (9,840 ft).
Easy To Use
Start the engine with the push button. Program each button on the controller, including power mode, response, and layout, using the driver identifier; the settings are saved for all your future work. It is even easier to move the hydraulic shovel thanks to the Cat arm direction. Just press a button and use one hand to move forward and turn instead of using both hands on levers or both feet on pedals. Not sure how a function works or how to maintain the hydraulic shovel? Always have the driver's manual at your fingertips on the touchscreen monitor.

The new comfort cabin offers mechanically adjustable seat suspension and automatic heating/air conditioning system. Quickly navigate on the high-resolution 203 mm (8 in) touchscreen monitor to view machine information. Effortlessly maneuver the hydraulic excavator using easily accessible controls located in front of you. Benefit from ample storage space for your equipment inside the cabin under and behind the seat, as well as overhead and in the consoles. Use Bluetooth® technology and the standard-equipped radio's USB ports to connect your personal devices and make hands-free calls.
Returning Home, Safe and Sound, Every Day
The standard ROPS (Rollover Protective Structure) cabin complies with ISO 12117-2:2008. Benefit from excellent visibility over the trench, in every direction, and behind you with smaller cabin pillars, larger windows, and a flat engine hood. When activated, the ground-level stop switch cuts off the engine fuel supply and stops the machine. Add optional cameras at the rear and right side for increased visibility of your surroundings. The serrated steps and non-slip perforated plate on the maintenance platform help prevent slipping. Enhance safety on the construction site. Add an orientation alarm to alert colleagues when transitioning from trenching to backfilling and vice versa.
