Consume up to 12% less fuel than the 330D2 hydraulic excavator in similar applications. Up to 45% increase in operational efficiency thanks to standard Cat technologies that reduce driver fatigue as well as operating costs, including fuel consumption and daily maintenance. The C7.1 Engine can run on biodiesel up to B20 and complies with emissions standards equivalent to the US EPA Tier 3 standard, the European Stage IIIA standard, the Chinese Stage III emissions standard for non-road engines, and the Brazilian MAR-1 standard. Adapt the hydraulic excavator to the task with power modes; the Smart mode automatically adjusts engine and hydraulic power to excavation conditions. Auxiliary hydraulic options provide the versatility required to use a wide range of Cat equipment. Don't let temperature be a hindrance to work. The hydraulic excavator offers a high ambient temperature capacity of 52 °C (125 °F) and a cold start capacity of -18 °C (0 °F). A -32 °C (-25 °F) cold start kit is available as an option.
Long-Term Profitability and Long Lifespan
Work up to 3,000 m (9,840 ft) above sea level without derating. Do not let temperature be an obstacle to work. The hydraulic excavator offers a high ambient temperature capacity of 52 °C (125 °F) and a cold start capacity of -18 °C (0 °F). A cold start kit of -32 °C (-25 °F) is available as an option. Auto preheating accelerates the reheating of hydraulic oil in cold weather and helps extend the life of components. Two levels of fuel filtration protect the engine from dirty diesel fuel. The grease retained between the pins and bushings of the chain reduces noise and prevents debris from entering to extend the life of the undercarriage. The chain guard keeps the hydraulic excavator's chain aligned during movement and work on slopes. The inclined carrier frame prevents the accumulation of mud and debris, reducing the risk of chain damage.

The cabin is equipped with a wide adjustable seat to accommodate drivers of all sizes. Effortlessly maneuver the hydraulic shovel using easily accessible controls located in front of you. The standard automatic air conditioning keeps you at the ideal temperature throughout the day. Advanced viscous mounting brackets reduce cabin vibrations by up to 50% compared to previous hydraulic shovel models. Benefit from ample storage space for your equipment inside the cabin, under and behind the seat, as well as in the consoles. A cup holder, document holder, bottle holder, and coat hook are also provided. Use the USB ports of the radio and the standard Bluetooth® technology to connect your personal devices.
Designed for Drivers
Start the engine using a push button; use a Bluetooth keychain or the unique driver ID function. Program the desired power mode and manipulator preferences using the user ID; the hydraulic excavator will memorize your settings and reapply them for all your subsequent jobs. Navigate quickly on the standard 203 mm (8 in) high-resolution touchscreen monitor or using the control knob. Protect your hammer from overheating and rapid wear. The hammer's automatic shutdown function warns you after 15 seconds of continuous priming, then automatically stops the hammer after 30 seconds, helping to increase the tool's service life. Not sure how a function works or how to maintain the hydraulic excavator? Make sure to always have the driver's manual at your fingertips on the touchscreen monitor. The Cat PL161 equipment locator is a Bluetooth device that allows you to quickly and easily find your accessories and other equipment. The Cat app on your phone automatically detects the device's location. Find the tool you need, even if it's under bushes or debris. The available Bluetooth reader searches for any Cat resource tracking-enabled work tool up to a distance of 60 m (200 ft).
Returning Home, Safe and Sound, Every Day
Access 100% of daily ground-level maintenance points (there is no need for you to climb on the hydraulic shovel). Secure your hydraulic shovel with the user ID. Use your PIN code on the monitor to activate the start function via a push button. The standard ROPS (Rollover Protective Structure) cabin complies with ISO 12117-2:2008. Benefit from excellent visibility in the trench, in every orientation, and behind you with smaller cabin pillars, larger windows, and a flat engine hood. A rear vision camera is included as standard, and a right-side side vision camera is available. The new right-side maintenance platform allows easy, safe, and quick access to the upper maintenance platform; its steps are covered with a non-slip perforated plate to prevent slipping. The standard hydraulic safety lever inhibits all hydraulic and translation functions when in the lowered position. When activated, the ground-level stop switch cuts off the engine fuel supply and stops the machine. Improve safety on the construction site. Add an orientation alarm to warn colleagues when transitioning from trenching to backfilling and vice versa. Simplify and secure maintenance work with optional inspection lighting. Simply activating a switch allows you to illuminate the engine, pump, battery, and radiator compartments for better visibility.
